Grand Pas de Quatre Print

Sale Price: $25.00 Original Price: $40.00

Limited Edition print signed and numbered (out of 250) by artist. 22"x17" Giclée print on certified archival paper. From the original oil painting "Grand Pas de Quatre" which was commissioned by 2019-2021 Thunderbird Commander, Col. John "Brick" Caldwell as his farewell gift to the squadron.

In ballet, the “Grand Pas de Quatre” refers to the pinnacle moment when four individuals move as one, executing with extreme expertise and precision. This is perhaps never demonstrated better than in the aerial ballet given by the U.S. Air Force Demonstration Team, known as The Thunderbirds, in their Diamond Pass-In-Review formation. The Diamond Pass-In-Review, as depicted in this painting, shows demonstration pilots #1-4 flying at a mere 18 inches of aircraft separation, 200 feet off the ground, in a 60-degree bank angle. The focus, concentration, and most importantly trust can be seen in both the wing and slot positions as they fix their gaze upon the Commander/Leader’s aircraft rather than their own instruments.
